Q. I selected low quality. Why do my images still take so long to upload?
A. When you upload a new image it gets uploaded to our servers just like it is on your computer. The quality is set when you or someone else views the image. If you want your images to upload to our servers faster, you may want to scale them down in width and height before you upload them.
Q. How can I upload full size images?
A. You can upload full size images by unchecking the resize button on the image upload page.
Q. How can I make my images upload faster?
A. If your images are large, scale them down in size with an image editing program before you upload them.
Q. How many folders can I have?
A. You can have an unlimited amount of folders with unlimited images within a folder. To keep your images as organized as possible try not to put too many images into one folder.
Q. How can I unsubscribe?
A. You can easily unsubscribe by going to ACCOUNT PREFERENCES and clicking the unsubscribe button. Your account will be closed and you will be taken to PayPal to cancel your subscription with us.
Q. Why are my images renamed?
A. If your filenames on your images are too long they are shortened when uploading them. If you have already uploaded a file with the same name as the one you are currently uploading, we assign a 4 digit number to the beginning of your file so that you don't over-write the file that you uploaded previously.
Q. What types of files can I host?
A. You can host JPG, GIF and PNG files. If you need support for other file types please contact us, and we may be able to add support for them.
Q. I’m new to digital photography and sharing photos online. How do I get started?
A. After you’ve shot your photos, you need to transfer them from the memory card in your camera to a folder on your computer. Each camera manufacturer has a slightly different procedure so please consult the camera’s users manual. Next we suggest making a backup of the photos onto a CD or DVD just in case! Now sign up for an account on ushareimages.com. Once you activate your account, sign in using your email address and password. Click on the IMAGE MANAGER button on the right to create a folder then click the UPLOAD IMAGES button and follow the onscreen instructions. By simply emailing a link, you can now enjoy creating fun and exciting presentations of your photos to share with family and friends.
Q. Do you archive my photos?
A. We perform daily backups of our site and your images in the event there is a problem with the servers. If you upload images after the previous days backup and before the next and there is a problem, you may loose just the images you uploaded that day. A catastrophic failure is possible but highly unlikely in which you may loose all of your files. We always recommend backing up and archiving the photos on the users end. The best way to archive your photos is to make two copies of them onto CD or DVD. Keep one copy in a safe convenient location like your home, and keep the second at a different location such as your work, safe deposit box, relatives' house etc.
Q. How can I upgrade to a plan with additional features, storage and bandwidth?
A. First login with your email address and password. On the right click the UPGRADE button. Now select the plan you would like and click the Update My Plan button at the bottom. You will then be taken to PayPal to update your payment subscription.
Q. Why would I want to use the Low or Medium quality setting?
A. Choosing the Low or Medium quality setting will make your photos display much faster and use less bandwidth.
Q. What is bandwidth and how does it affect my account?
A. Bandwidth is the amount of data transferred to and from your account on a monthly basis. It’s calculated by the size of the photos you upload and how many times they are viewed.
Q. What happens if I use all of my monthly bandwidth?
A. Once your monthly bandwidth limit is reached, you will no longer be able to upload or view your photos. A message will display that says “You have reached your bandwidth limit”. To make sure this doesn’t happen select a plan that will cover the amount of your usage. At any point in the month you can upgrade your plan, which will give you more bandwidth and allow your photos to be viewed.
Q. Do I need a PayPal account to sign up?
A. A PayPal account makes the sign up process quick and easy. If you don't have a PayPal account you can sign up with your Credit Card on PayPal's secure website. Just click the COMPLETE SIGN UP button on our site and you will be taken to PayPal. Follow the onscreen instructions and enter the requested information.
Q. How does the SeeAdPhotos.com Service work?
A. The SeeAdPhotos.com Service offers an easy way to show photos of items you want to sell in your local newspaper’s Classified Ad section. Here’s how it works:
1. Take photos of your item from all angles and write a description to go with each photo as a caption to point out the details.
2. Sign up for an account with ushareimages.com.
3. Login to your account and create a folder. Give your folder a name, something like JEEP FOR SALE.
4. Upload your photos to the folder and enter the captions that you wrote down.
5. On the right hand side of the screen click the “CREATE A PORTFOLIO” button.
6. After the screen refreshes select the folder that contains your photos and click “CREATE”.
7. Click the “View Your Portfolio” copy to see how your photos will display, then write down your SeeAdPhotos.com Ad ID number.
8. Send your ad to the newspaper and include a line that says “Visit SeeAdPhotos.com ID# 1234” (insert your Ad ID number in place of 1234). If you have more space in the ad you could say “Visit SeeAdPhotos.com ID# 1234 for photos and info.”
